The Lifely Journal · straight answers for parents, from the people who make the bed
You read labels. Good. Here’s ours.
No adjectives — a height in centimetres, two seals that aren't ours, and reviews we couldn't have written.

Some people buy off the photos. You're the kind who flips the tag over and reads it — I know, because I'm the same, and this page exists for us.
Full disclosure: I work at Lifely. Which means you shouldn't trust my adjectives — you should trust the things you can check. So no adjectives. Here's what I'd point you at if you were standing in my kitchen asking about this bed: a height in centimetres, two certification seals that aren't ours, and what's actually inside the foam.
1. The height
The side of the bed sits between 25cm and 36cm high (about 10–14 inches). That's the entire safety idea in one number: low enough that climbing in is easy, climbing out is a non-event, and a midnight roll ends on the carpet a hand-span down — with a soft padded edge the whole way around.
Two grandparents said it better than I can — these are verbatim:
“My grandson loved the bed we had set up for him for when he stays over. Fantastic idea, low to ground and no hazards to worry about .”
“I brought this for my grandson he loves it and it’s so safe no sharp edges but Firm enough to hold a perfect shape.”
2. What's inside (and what isn't)

On the tag, checkable
- Fabric: OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified — independently tested for harmful substances
- Foam: CertiPUR-US® certified — independently tested for low emissions
- Structure: high-resilience foam, no wood or metal inside — no hard frame edges, no sharp corners anywhere
- Care: covers machine-wash at 30° on gentle

Independent labs did this testing — the seals are theirs, not ours, and both are on the tag when the bed arrives.
“This bed has no hard parts at all. Made of nice foam that is not super soft and its not hard.”

3. The proof I can't write myself
The bed is pediatrician approved, and more than 15,000 families sleep on one. Both of those are true and both are on the product page. But the reviews are the proof I'd trust most in your position — because we can't write those. Parents and grandparents did, with their names on them.
“Absolutely stunning - bought the double base was super easy to put together by myself. Fabric is soft and my little loves it.”
Asked constantly, answered plainly
What about mould under a low bed?
Fair question for any bed this close to the floor. The care guide on the product page covers airflow and washing routines, and the covers unzip fully — so nothing stays damp and hidden.
What age is it for?
Full sizing and age guidance is on the product page — three sizes (Single, King Single, Double), so it's the first big-kid bed rather than a stopgap.
And the honest close: if you check all of the above and something doesn't stack up for your family — don't buy it. Everything on this page is on the tag when the box arrives, so you can re-run the inspection in your own hallway. The 30-day trial exists for exactly that.
